iPhone 5 Cases Emerge at AT&T

Just ahead of the iPhone 5 launch event on September 12th, purported iPhone 5 cases have reportedly shown up in AT&T’s internal accessory systems, giving us a look at what the iPhone 5 may look like when it arrives.

BGR has uncovered several potential iPhone 5 cases and an iPhone 5 screen protector from within AT&T’s internal database. We see two different case styles displayed in the images and one shows what appears to be a taller iPhone 5 housed within.

We also see that iOS 6 has a YouTube logo so it appears that either the case makers made these before the release of iOS 6 beta 4 or they aren’t authentic. The former might be true for two reasons.

This could show the iPhone 5 design.

One, similar cases leaked out last year showing off the iPhone 4S design ahead of launch and two, we heard yesterday that the iPhone 5 will indeed sport a similar design to the leaks that have emerged over the past few weeks.

That means it will likely have a taller design with a larger 4-inch display with 16:9 aspect ratio. It also is supposedly going to come with a metal back, a new dock connector and a headphone jack on the bottom instead of the top.

Other rumored features like 4G LTE, the A5X/A6 processor, the HD front-facing camera remain unclear.

Of course, we won’t know anything for sure until Apple takes the official wraps off of the iPhone 5, which it will be doing at an event set to take place on September 12th.

iPhone 5 Release Date

While the company has confirmed the September 12th iPhone 5 launch event, we still don’t know when Apple plans on releasing it.

Rumor has it, September 21st is the day and while nothing is set in stone, Apple does like to release its devices shortly after announcing them and September 21st is, as of right now, as good of a day as any.

Weird… notice the music icon. Rather than the IOS 5 “music” icon it has the IOS 4 “ipod” icon. Fishy to me.
