LG Optimus G U.S. Release Date Coming in November

Published

Unlike Samsung and the Galaxy Note 2, LG gave its new flagship smartphone, the LG Optimus G an official U.S. release month though it still remains mum about an official release date, carriers or pricing.

According to The Verge, the newly announced LG Optimus G will be headed stateside at some point during the month of November. The company did not announce a specific release date for the device only saying that it would arrive in that time frame.

With the Galaxy Note 2, Samsung only said that the device would be coming to the U.S. later this year leaving customers to wonder when they could pick up Samsung’s latest and greatest. Kudos for LG for committing to a specific month.

The LG Optimus G will hit the U.S. in November.

The LG Optimus G is the company’s latest release for the United States and from the looks of things, the device could attract quite a bit of attention ahead of the holidays.

The phone will feature a 4.7-inch True HD IPS Plus display with a resolution of 1280 X 768 pixels. It will have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro processor inside, 2 GB RAM, a sealed battery, non-removable memory, 32 GB built-in storage, NFC, and unfortunately, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich though we’re still holding out hope that it could arrive with Jelly Bean in the U.S.

LG’s new Optimus G also features a 13-megapixel camera.

All in all, it’s looking like a solid release from LG in the United States but one that will face fierce competition when it arrives. Already out is the Galaxy S III. On Friday, the iPhone 5 arrives. And later this year, possibly in October, the Galaxy Note 2 will arrive.

That’s not to mention Windows Phone 8 and the new Nexus smartphone which could arrive as early as next month as well.

    “a sealed battery, non-removable memory”

This is the deal breaker for me. Bye!
