Samsung Galaxy Note Jelly Bean Update Could Deliver Killer Note 2 Feature

Published

on

The Samsung Galaxy Note Jelly Bean update, still without any kind of a specific release date, could come be coming in Android 4.1.2 form with a host of new features including the TouchWiz Nature UX and multi-screen multitasking.

According to SamMobile, Samsung is currently testing the Samsung Galaxy Note Jelly Bean update, dubbed N7000XXLS3, that includes the split screen mulittasking feature that’s found on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. The feature allows users to open up one app on one side of the screen, for example the browser, while having another app open, like Facebook, on the other.

The Galaxy Note Jelly Bean update could come loaded with features.

A leaked video also seems to suggest that Samsung will be adding the TouchWiz Nature UX to the Galaxy Note though that remains less certain than the new multitasking functionality. The video can be seen below.

Neither feature has been confirmed by Samsung and that means that there is still a possibility that neither will make it through with the next update. Keep in mind, the Galaxy S3 will likely get the new multitasking so it would be a little odd to see the Galaxy Note left behind.

The site also claims that another version, dubbed N7000XXLS3, is currently available to Galaxy Note owners though it’s apparently from October 9th which means that it’s old and probably not worth flashing at this point.

Samsung has said that the Galaxy Note Jelly Bean update would be coming out soon, possibly as soon as the fourth quarter of 2012. Of course, that doesn’t mean that all Galaxy Note owners will see the update this year. Samsung has yet to announce any Jelly Bean timeline for the AT&T Galaxy Note which means that it could be awhile before the device sees the software update.

The company looks like it may update the device first with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean instead of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the latest version of the software and if true, that could mean that Android 4.2 won’t arrive until next year.

When I received my GN2 last week I was really disappointed that some of the features that drew me to the purchase were not there. Even more disappointing was the fact that Samsung nor Tmoblie had any answers. I think we could safely add this mystery with Extraterrestrial Intelligence, The Tunguska Explosion, Rare Antimatter, or even the mystery of Grand Unification Theory.

Tmobile and ATT will not have these upgrades pushed until early next year, if I were you i would return it back to the store if you are not wanting to root it and flash the updates yourself. Keep in mind by doing so you will void your warranty alternatively you can buy the international version if you are on tmobile they should still have hspda + which does have some great features such as multi app, s note enhancements etc that you can manually upgrade to. I know for a fact that tmobile and att will take forever before they push those out to their users

I wish that Samsung cares a little more about updates for their phones. I think Samsung works hard to make better phones but the software is a big part of the success of it and to keep your costumers update will be a nice touch mostly for the phones that are no too old from released.

It’s poor show Samsung! Being told release dates are in three months.. Then it turns out it is another six and….. I am not holding my breath….. Experience speaks louder than words for this company…. There phones have excellent potential but updates are below par… What I think Samsung fail to realise is. That customers need to be looked AFTER… Not just disregarded in the hope they will buy the next phone. Until they sort themselves out… I am afraid that I will be sticking with this opinion then moving away when my contract ends…. Tick tock. Samsung… My contract is two years… I have 11 months left….
My experience is I have a galaxy note and other phones have better firmware updates. Have to say it but Iphone is looking better ATM.
