Verizon Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean Update Leaks as Release Date Nears

Published

on

The Verizon Galaxy S3 Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update has leaked once again meaning that the official roll out of the highly anticipated update just got a little bit closer to becoming a reality.

The latest leak comes courtesy of a XDA-Developers forum thread which not only has the latest leak, but also has the full instructions that Verizon Galaxy S3 owners can follow should they want to take a plunge into Jelly Bean early.

This latest build is dated November 15th which means it’s extremely new and it is build VRBLK1. It’s only available for those that are rooted so those who wish to install the firmware will need to root their Verizon Galaxy S3 before attempting to install this. As usual, while this is an official build, it could be that it’s not the final build and that means that those who aren’t adept at flashing these types of files will want to avoid it until the official roll out arrives.

The Verizon Galaxy S3 Android 4.1 update leaked again today.

Speaking of the official roll out, this is the third time that we’ve seen this update leak, which is a good sign that the official roll out has just gotten a bit closer. In fact, it’s entirely possible that this version of the software is the version that Verizon will roll out to its Galaxy S3 users. It’s also entirely possible that we’ll see another update leak out in the future but at this point, it’s best to stay optimistic.

Verizon is notoriously slow in regards to its Android roll outs but it may be that the carrier will be AT&T and U.S. Cellular to the Android 4.1 punch. Sprint and T-Mobile have already rolled out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates for their Galaxy S3 devices.

The carrier has not yet offered any sort of time table in regards to the roll out so until we see the update emerge on Verizon’s website in the form of a changelog, it’s hard to predict when the software might roll out.

Hopefully, that takes place soon.

it’s gonna take a couple more months for verizon to add their crapware to the build. I’d be surprised if we see the update before christmas.

I think it will be ready for everyone in about 2 weeks. I definitely think Verizon has it out & ready to roll before Christmas.

This is getting past the point of frustration. We have been waiting months for Verizon to update to 4.1.1 and this version of the android OS isn’t even the latest. I am thinking hard about not using another android phone due to the update problems and switch to an iphone (which i thought i would never do)

Honestly buying from Google is looking like best option. You can buy the nexus phone has jelly bean already. Then you use it under t mobile its all unlimited. Googles updates are always fast. I have a nexus 7 tablet and it runs great and always up to date.
