While the Nexus 4 remains backordered and out of stock through the U.S. Google Play Store, the Canadian version of the store will begin taking orders for the Nexus 4 once again starting at Noon today.
Google has begun sending out emails to interested customers in Canada, informing them that the Nexus 4 will go on sale in Canada again today, a few weeks after stock was completely sold out. The device will go up for order at Noon PST and those who are interested in picking one up today will likely want to hit the Google Play Store a few minutes early as orders will likely go live before Noon.
Interested consumers will also want to ensure an early arrival because the Nexus 4 is a hot commodity and will likely sell out soon after it goes on sale. The U.S. version of the Google Play Store sold out of both models almost instantly and soon after, Google’s website started showing increasingly distant shipping times.
In fact, the shipping times in the U.S. got so bad that the 8GB Nexus 4 is now listed as sold out and the 16GB Nexus 4 won’t be shipping out for close to two months. Google has yet to provide any clarification on the 8GB sell out though we imagine it may not arrive back in stock in 2013.
Those looking to get the Canadian version of the Nexus 4 will have two options. The 8GB unlocked model starts at $309 and the 16GB Nexus 4 runs $359 Canadian dollars.
For those that are unable to place an order, the device will surely show up on auction sites like eBay which currently offer the device for well over its retail price on the Google Play Store. The demand for the Nexus 4 has also prompted eBay to issue some restrictions on the selling of the Nexus 4 in an effort to prevent abuse from those selling the sold out smartphone.
The Nexus 4 is Google’s latest smartphone and it comes with Android 4.2, quad-core processor, massive HD display, solid camera and design and an unlocked price tag that is virtually unbeatable.
Thanks, everyone who sent this in!
