It seems that HTC finally has supplied HTC ThunderBolt owners with a concrete response as far as the ThunderBolt Ice Cream Sandwich release date is concerned saying that owners should expect it soon while thanking them for their patience.
The HTC USA Twitter account has seemingly confirmed that the update will be heading to ThunderBolt owners soon, telling one inquiring owner on Twitter that the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the ThunderBolt will “be here soon” and that the company appreciates his continued patience in waiting for the update to arrive.
Sadly, the account did not specify when HTC ThunderBolt owners might see Ice Cream Sandwich roll out but this does, at least, seem to be the confirmation that ThunderBolt owners have been looking for.
@louie_397 ICS will be here soon. Thanks for your continued patience!

Since August, the month that HTC originally promised the HTC ThunderBolt ICS update, both HTC and Verizon have been silent in regards to any timing for the ThunderBolt update’s roll out. Their silence also prompted many to wonder whether or not the ThunderBolt ICS update would ever roll out given how long of a delay it has seen. HTC customer service representatives have been of little help, telling customers an assortment of stories in regards to the update.
While some HTC representatives have said that an update is still in the plans, at least one representative said that Verizon had decided that the ThunderBolt was better left on Ice Cream Sandwich, comments that were then denied by another representative. Needless to say, it has been a long journey for those ThunderBolt owners who have stuck around and haven’t installed an unofficial version of the update.
And that’s why a comment like this from HTC USA is absolutely huge. There is no telling how soon “soon” might be, it could definitely be weeks before we see it, but at least it looks like the update is not cancelled.
