Sony Xperia Tablet Z Specs Leak: Full HD, Waterproof, Xperia Z Design
Have you fallen in love with the weatherproofing features and high-end flagship specs of Sony’s latest Xperia Z smartphone that has won GottaBeMobile’s Best Smartphone of CES 2013 award? Well, it appears that Sony is hoping to replicate the success and attention that the Xperia Z has been receiving with a rumored new Xperia Tablet Z Android tablet model. The tablet, which has a codename of Pollux, is speculated to be launched as the Xperia Tablet Z and will come with many of the specs and features of the Xperia Z smartphone.
The device will be a 10.1-inch model, according to Tech Kiddy, with a full 1080p HD display and will be powered by the same quad-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU as the Xperia Z phone. It will come with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB storage and will feature the same dustproof and waterproof design of the Xperia Z smartphone, making it a little bit more life-proof, especially if you want to use your tablet near a bathtub or poolside, or if you have kids who eat and drink near your slate.
The device is said to be feature a 6.9mm thin profile design.
The tablet will launch with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and will feature an 8.1-megapixel rear camera and a 2.2-megapixel front-facing camera. The camera isn’t as strong as the 13-megapixel shooter on the Xperia Z smartphone.
WiFi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and 4G LTE will be supported on the tablet.
And according to the leaked rumors, the Xperia Tablet Z will feature the same design as the Xperia Z. If this is true, the tablet will feature a minimalist design that’s mostly clad in black with straight lines and subtly rounded corners.
The Xperia Tablet Z is said to be arriving in Japan first followed by other markets. The slate is expected to arrive in the second quarter of this year. At this time, pricing information is unknown.
