HTC Teases Rumored HTC M7 Feature

The HTC M7 is no stranger to leaks, even from HTC itself, and it appears that the company has once again teased the device ahead of its rumored February 19th arrival. While the latest leak isn’t as big as HTC CEO Peter Chou showing off the phone on stage or leading ‘HTC M7’ chants, it does tease a probable HTC M7 feature.

Earlier today, a rumor suggested that HTC was gearing up to include a new type of camera on the HTC M7. The M7 camera, originally thought to be 13MP, is now rumored to include three 4.3MP camera sensors, something that HTC may called Ultrapixels. The camera sensors are thought to produce one image that is extremely clear and crisp, maybe more so than any camera we’ve ever seen.

HTC says it will be delivering better camera and audio technology in 2013.

If this type of technology is indeed coming with the HTC M7, HTC is doing a bad job of hiding as a new HTC infographic, from HTC itself, claims that 2013 will be the year that HTC “kicks off a new sound and camera experience.” We’re not sure what the sound experience might pertain to, but the camera technology it speaks of could certainly mean this new Ultrapixel camera.

The infographic doesn’t specifically mention either Ultrapixel or the HTC M7 but with the device poised to arrive as the company’s flagship, challenging both the iPhone 5 and Galaxy S4, we wouldn’t be surprised if this isn’t what HTC is teasing here. It  also helps that it should be HTC’s first major launch of 2013.

The HTC M7 is rumored to be making its debut at two events on February 19th. The company will be holding dueling launch events for a product in both New York City and London. HTC has not yet said what the event is for, but it’s likely to be for the HTC M7, a device that has been rumored in the past, and has even made an unexpected on stage appearance with the company’s CEO.

Besides the camera, the HTC M7 is rumored to have a 4.7-inch 1080p display, quad-core processor, Android Jelly Bean – likely Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and support for AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.

Verizon’s HTC M7 is said to be a little off in the distance, though it’s unclear just how far away that release might be.
