Just a day after announcing the Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung has posted the details of the device on its website. Oddly enough, it seems one of the accessory listings has potentially tipped off the screen size of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, a device that is said to be arriving at some point later on this year.
Last night, Samsung announced the Samsung Galaxy S4, a 5-inch, quad-core powered successor to the Samsung Galaxy S3, one of the most popular smartphones of 2012. The device was also accompanied by several accessories, one of which was a Game Pad that not only will allow users to more easily play games, but also comes with an adjustable clamp that to us, signaled that it might be coming for use with the Galaxy Note series.
What’s more is that TrustedReviews has noticed that Samsung’s webpage for the GamePad accessory mentions that the device can support devices up to 6.3-inches in size, odd, considering Samsung does not currently offer a device with that size of a display.
Even more interesting is the fact that numerous rumors have suggested that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 may have a 6.3-inch display, up from the 5.5-inch display of the Galaxy Note 2.
Another rumor has suggested that the Galaxy Note 3 will have a 5.8-inch display to go along with its quad-core Exynos 5 Octa processor, but given the listing here, it may be that the former size is correct. Of course, Samsung won’t confirm anything but it seems like a little more than coincidence that this size has shown up with the GamePad accessory.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 will be out in April on some carriers but the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is much further away from launch. Typically, Samsung announces the device at IFA in Berlin during the end of summer, with August being the likely candidate for an announcement.
This means that we likely won’t have confirmation on the Galaxy Note 3 display size and the Galaxy Note 3 itself until later this year. This accessory listing sure makes one wonder though.
