The Sony Xperia Ion Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update has leaked.Advertisement Now, it’s the Sony Xperia Ion’s turn. According to XperiaBlog, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update has leaked out courtesy of XDA-Developers forums, offering Xperia Ion owners a chance to install the software ahead of schedule. The update is available for consumer devices thanks to the work of DoomLord who has ported the firmware for consumer grade devices.Advertisement The firmware is build 6.2.B.0.203 and it’s only available to those with an unlocked bootloader, at least for the moment. It’s also possible that this won’t be the final version of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software headed to the Xperia Ion. In other words, this update likely won’t appeal to users beyond those who are comfortable tinkering with all aspects of their device. The arrival of this leak also means that the update is one step closer to arrival though a release date is still unknown. We still expect Sony to hit its May deadline for the Jelly Bean updates of the Xperia Ion, S, SL and Arco S as the company has given no indication that any of the updates are delayed beyond this month. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will take these devices from Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to an older version of Jelly Bean. It’s currently not known whether any of these devices will get taken to Android 4.2, the most current version of Android software.
