Samsung Galaxy S4 Heading to New U.S. Carrier in June
The Samsung Galaxy S4 will be heading to a new U.S. carrier starting in June with Cricket Wireless finally confirming both pricing and a release date for the current flagship from Samsung.
In April, the Samsung Galaxy S4 arrived in the United States, hitting carriers AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular in the process. Tomorrow, the Galaxy S4 will finally touch down on Verizon after a lengthy wait and now, we are learning about another carrier that is set to launch the Galaxy S4 in just a few weeks.
Cricket Wireless, which was one of the carriers to confirm the Samsung Galaxy S4, has finally divulged the important details in regards to its upcoming Galaxy S4 launch.
The Cricket Wireless Galaxy S4 will be heading to shelves on June 7th, right at the start of summer, and it will be doing so with a price tag that should make some consumers drool. The carrier will be offering the Galaxy S4 up for just $55 down for an installment plan that is going to be paid out over the course of many months. For those with deep pockets, the device will be available for $600 total.
The carrier will host the device on its 4G LTE network which, like T-Mobile’s network, is extremely small and only available in a few markets. Those markets include Philadelphia, Phoenix, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Laredo, Corpus Christi and the Brownsville-McAllen-Harlingen, Las Vegas and Tuscon, Arizona. What this means is that those living in these areas will have access to 4G LTE data speeds which are much faster than typical 3G speeds and can often rival home Wi-Fi networks.
As for the phone itself, it will be the same device that we’ve seen emerge already. That means a 5-inch 1080p display, quad-core processor, 13MP camera, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and a host of Samsung’s new smart software features.
