Verizon HTC One Release Reportedly Inching Closer

Published

on

The heavily rumored Verizon HTC One release appears to have inched closer to reality as the highly anticipated devices appears to have not only shown up in Verizon’s inventory system but it also appears that the device has passed through a Bluetooth SIG certification, signs that an arrival could very well take place in June.

Verizon’s May 22nd launch event came and went without an HTC One announcement though rumors of a launch have persisted in the weeks since with the latest pegging the device for arrival before the month of July, sometime in late June. And while a specific date has not yet been revealed, signs are pointing to an impending arrival.

Update: Verizon has confirmed the HTC One, though, no release date is known.

We could see a Verizon HTC One at the Verizon announcement.

The Verizon HTC One release appears to be on track for June.

Thanks to a pair of apparent sightings, it appears that the Verizon HTC One could be well on its way to release, perhaps during the month of June as rumors dictate. The first supposed sighting was dug up by PhoneArena who claims that the device has shown up in Verizon’s inventory system as the HTC6500LVW or HTC M7. The HTC M7 is the HTC One’s code name and it’s what the device was known as before it hit shelves at the One. This system update apparently took place on May 22nd, the day of Verizon’s CTIA event.

The second sighting is at Bluetooth SIG where a device called HTC6500LVW seemingly just got certified. The certification, first discovered by G4Games, could mean that the device is on its way to shelves in the month of June. The device passed certification today, it seems though the listing seems to have been pulled for unknown reasons.

Neither are definitive proof of an arrival unfortunately but they are signs that HTC and Verizon could have something in the works for later this month. Prior to the CTIA event, there was a lot of whispering, so it came as no surprise that Verizon skipped CTIA for its Viva Movil announcement.

Still, without a photo of the device itself, the release remains a rumor and one that is likely going to torture potential customers for at least a few more days.

The Verizon HTC One is said to be exactly the same as the other models, that means 4.7-inch 1080p display, quad-core processor, Ultrapixel camera and metal design, but it’s also said to have Android 4.2 Jelly Bean on board, something that the other devices don’t have quite yet.
