The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date is once again rumored for a specific window and a new report claims that the Galaxy Note 4 will come with at least one killer feature on board, a feature that it will apparently share in common with several other smartphones including the rumored LG G3.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 remains firmly on shelves in the United States. The device, which was released backed in October, will join the Samsung Galaxy S5 when the Galaxy S5 is released in April. However, at some point later this year, the Galaxy S5 will team up with something new, a device that is currently being called the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
While the company hasn’t shown off the Galaxy Note 4 just yet, it has all but confirmed it for arrival later on this year. In fact, Samsung executives have said that it will launch in the fall, per usual. Previous Galaxy Note models debuted at IFA, a trade show that takes place annually in Berlin, Germany.
Today, yet another report puts the Galaxy Note 4’s release inside of the second half of the year and it also reveals one of the features that Samsung might be thinking about including on board the next Galaxy Note model.
According to IT Today, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will arrive later this year, timing that lines up with what Samsung has said and what rumors have said about the Galaxy Note 4 release. It appears that Samsung will follow a release path similar to the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 3 which arrived in April and September respectively.
The report also claims that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 design may adopt water resistant qualities. While the Galaxy Note 4 design is likely still a moving part due to internal testing, the adoption of a water resistant design would not come as much of a surprise.
Samsung’s new Galaxy S5 comes with IP67-rated water and dust resistance, a feature that first arrived on board the company’s Samsung Galaxy S4 Active last year. The Galaxy S5’s water and dust resistant design is one of the flagship device’s key features and it affords users protection that the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 simply cannot offer.
The Korean publication claims that the LG G3 will also come with a water resistant design. The LG G3 is primed to become one of the Galaxy Note 4’s main rivals in Korea and around the globe. Rumors point to a release in May or June though a specific launch date has not been nailed down just yet. It also claims that the new Pantech Vega Iron 2 will get a similar design though that, like the other details, remains unconfirmed.
Other Galaxy Note 4 features remain in the shadows though reports have pegged it as potentially having a high-resolution three-sided display, described as “bent.” The three-sided display would produce better viewing angles on board the new flagship Galaxy Note.
Consumers should expect Galaxy Note 4 rumors to continue to emerge as Samsung works to prepare a final version of the device for public consumption.
