While we wait for Apple and Samsung to announce their rumored iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 smartphones, designers have taken it upon themselves to produce their own concepts. Many of these concepts are based on future technology, others, like the ones we’re about to show you, borrow from real life rumors.
Rumors suggest that the next iPhone might come in two different sizes. The iPhone 6 rumor mill states that Apple might release a new iPhone that’s around 4.5-inches to 4.7-inches and another that is over 5-inches in size. The 5+-inch iPhone 6 would be a direct challenger to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung’s 5.7-inch smartphone, and the rumored Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
5.7-inch iPhone 6 Concept
A new iPhone 6 concept from Fabrizio D’Onofrio brings iPhone 6 rumors to life and shows us what a 5.7-inch iPhone could look like. His concept incorporates a large edge-to-edge display with extremely thin bezels, Touch ID in the home button and an extremely slim design. All of these elements have been rumored to be on board the iPhone 6.
His design pulls from an alleged photo of the iPhone 6 that apparently comes straight from the depths of Foxconn, one of companies Apple uses to manufacturer the iPhone.
5.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Concept & Video
His concept appears on the same day that a new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 concept video emerged. This new Galaxy Note 4 concept from Jermaine Smit depicts a metal Galaxy Note 4 design that features a fingerprint reader embedded in the home button, just like the Samsung Galaxy S5.
It also features a large 5.75-inch display that puts it on par with this iPhone 6 concept in terms of size. This Galaxy Note 4 concept also features a large camera on the back and an S Pen stylus for use with the software on board.
These are concept smartphones which means that they don’t come from Apple and Samsung. So while they might borrow from the rumor mill, there is a good chance that the real Galaxy Note 4 and iPhone 6 will look much different than the concepts that these designers have come up with ahead of their release.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 rumors point to a release in the fall, right around the same time that Samsung always announces and releases the Galaxy Note 4. The device is rumored to have a water and dust resistant design like the Galaxy S5 and it’s also thought to have a high-powered design, either QHD, bent, or both.
The iPhone 6 is also expected to make its debut this fall and rumors point to a thinner design, a larger Sapphire display, a new A8 processor, and an upgraded camera sensor. Like this concept here, the real iPhone 6 is said to be coming with a brand new software update in iOS 8.
iOS 8 rumors point to the addition of health-related features including Healthbook. The software could also focus on improving Siri, the software’s personal assistant.
With WWDC 2014 lined up for early June, it’s only a matter of weeks before we will hear about what Apple has in store for current iPhone and future iPhone 6 owners.
