The Kentucky Oaks took place today, May 6th ahead of the Kentucky Derby start tomorrow. While not as well-known outside of horse racing circles as the Kentucky Derby, it is one of the most popular horse races in America.

2016 Kentucky Derby Start Time

The Kentucky Derby start time is 4PM according to network coverage, but 6:34 PM is the Post time on Saturday May 7th. Network coverage starts at Noon Eastern with four hours of Derby Prep where you can see live shots, commentary and insight from NBC Sports. On the west coast the Kentucky Derby starts at 1PM Pacific, which leaves plenty of time to transition go for a Mint Juleps after brunch.
