Here’s just a sampling of what you can do to the Acer C731 Chromebook without breaking it.

  • Place 132 pounds of downward force on the top cover.
  • Even more force on the reinforced case and hinges.
  • Survive drops up to 48 inches.
  • Handle spills like a champ thanks to a spill-resistant keyboard with a gutter system that can drain up to 11 ounces of liquid.

It’s also easier to hold onto thanks to an anti-slip grip texture on the rear of the notebook. This means kids and adults have a much easier time holding on to this Chromebook.

Thanks to a fanless design this is quiet and remains cool enough for extended use on a lap without anything clogging an air vent. Additionally, recessed keys make it very difficult for a kid to pull the keycaps. The hinge opens 180 degrees to lay flat on the table for sharing.

Inside is an Intel Celeron dual core processor that delivers an incredible 13 hours of battery life and enough power for everyday computing tasks.

Acer offers two different options for this kid proof Chromebook. The first is the C731T, an 11.6-inch IPS touchscreen and the C731 with a normal screen. Both include a 1,366×768 resolution display. There is a built-in webcam for better connectivity with support for HDR. Stay connected with dual-band 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac Wi-Fi built-in.
