Setting up a home monitoring or home security solution typically sounds like a lot of work, but the Chamberlain Notifi takes the pain out of the process with a WiFi lightbulb, smart doorbell and a camera that anyone can install — even if you live in an apartment.
The Chamberlain Notifi comes alongside a new dedicated MyQ WiFi garage door at CES 2015, with several pieces that deliver a smart front door so you can see who is at the door and even get alerts.
You don’t need to run extra power to the porch or door, because Chamberlain Notifi relies on your existing porch light to make all of this work.

The big part of this system is a LED light that connects to your WiFi Network. The light should last up to 10 years, and it includes a camera that gets power and internet connectivity through the bulb. After you screw the bulb in, you point the camera at the door and the included motion sensor can push alerts when someone comes to the door.
For users who want to know what is going on outside the door, this is a really interesting solution that takes many of the traditional pain points out of setting up this type of smart monitoring and notification system. You can also watch video over WiFi using your smartphone.

At $199, the Chamberlain Notifi isn’t cheap, but it is a camera, a doorbell and a LED light that you don’t need to go crazy with installing. The Notifi arrives in Q3, so it is still a ways off, but with the success of the MyQ WiFi garage door service, it is a connected home gadget we can’t wait to check out.
