The 2015 Super Bowl take place today, and here’s how you can watch all of the action, whether it’s on television or on your mobile device while on the go.

The AFC Champion New England Patriots defeated the Indianapolis Colts two weeks ago during the AFC Championship game to advance to this year’s big game, and Tom Brady and company will be taking on last year’s Super Bowl champions Seattle Seahawks. That game begins at 6:30 pm ET on NBC, with several hours of pre-game coverage beforehand.

This is the biggest game of the year for the NFL and perhaps all of sports, as it’s the most-watched sporting event of the year. It’s even better this year, as two previous Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks will go head-to-head to see who’ll be adding another ring to their hand.

You’ll be able to catch all the action on NBC on your television, or you can watch them live on Android or iPhone. Watching NFL games on mobile devices is a bit easier than past years, but it’s still not where it should be, as blackouts are still one of the biggest downsides of streaming live sports. However, if you’ll be out and about can’t be around a television to watch the games this weekend, here’s how you can catch all of the action without skipping a beat.

NFL Mobile

Perhaps the most popular method for watching NFL games on mobile devices is by downloading the NFL Mobile app, which is available exclusively to Verizon customers. It’s a free download that any user can install, but the streaming access to NFL Mobile is only available to Verizon customers, and it allows them to watch NFL games right on their devices.

NFL Mobile will be live streaming Super Bowl XLIX, and it’s the best option for Verizon customers. The app also features news, alerts, on-demand video highlights, and a section called Game Center, where you can get a comprehensive breakdown of games.

And obviously, you can check team standings, stats, rosters and schedules, as well as browse the NFL.com shop, find game tickets, or read expert analysis, although it’s a bit late in the season to really take advantage of all that.

One thing to take note of is that NFL Mobile has the exclusive streaming rights on smartphones, meaning that if you’re not a Verizon customer and want to stream the big game on your smartphone, you’re out of luck.

NBC Sports Live Extra

For those who aren’t Verizon customers, but have a tablet, the best option is to use the NBC Sports Live Extra app. Since the game will be broadcasting on NBC, the network has exclusive streaming rights (besides the NFL itself), so it’s really the only mobile app that will be live streaming the 2015 Super Bowl.

The app streams thousands of live sporting events that air on NBC and NBCSN, including NFL games, and the Super Bowl will be the hottest game to stream on the app. NBC Sports Live Extra normally requires users to have a cable subscription in order to take advantage of the live streaming features in the app, but it’s making an exception for the Super Bowl this year, meaning anyone can open up the app and stream the game live.

The live stream will start at noon ET and will includes pre-game coverage, as well as the halftime show for the first time ever.

If you want to watch the game on your computer, you can go to NBCSports.com/liveextra to watch a live stream of the big game right on your desktop or laptop. Again, no cable subscription is required for this. Plus, if you have a set-top box like an Apple TV, you can fire up the NBC Sports app and live stream away as well.
