HTC EVO 3D Release in UK Delayed until September
Those of you across the pond who have been seething with jealously watching your American counterparts enjoy HTC’s EVO 3D are going to have to wait a little longer to curb those feelings because HTC has confirmed to SlashGear that the device has been delayed in the United Kingdom and will not be hitting shelves until some point in September. This announcement comes shortly after Vodafone decided that it was not going to carry the device and it’s likely that the carrier’s decision played a big hand in pushing the launch of the 3D smartphone back. The carrier had decided against the phone because of the delays in launching the device, which, as the report points out, was a pretty weak excuse.
When asked about the July timetable, HTC had this to say:
We can confirm that the HTC EVO 3D will be available to UK customers through Carphone Warehouse from September 2011.
Short, sweet and without any sort of mention of a ‘delay’. That’s good PR, folks. In any event, the GSM version of this popular phone is still going to be coming to the shores of the United Kingdom and we’ll be keeping an eye on exactly when in the weeks ahead.
