LG G6 vs LG G4: Design

If you loved the design of the LG G2, G3 or G4, but weren't a fan of the G5, don't worry. In 2017 with the LG G6 the company is getting back to their roots, while improving it at the same time.

What we mean is they've ditched the modular design from 2016, and are instead going with a sealed premium device. There are some huge upsides to the new design elements, as well as a con or two some may want to consider.

It's now using an all glass and metal frame, something we've never received from LG. There is also three cameras, a fingerprint scanner, chamfered metal edges, and water resistance. It's a little taller than the G4, thinner, and made to last.

There is one major downside to the design. While sealing everything inside means a more durable all metal phone, and a bigger battery, it also means the battery is no longer be removable. This will be the first LG phone in years where owners can't take out the battery. Something many won't be happy about.

If there was one area the LG G6 won't be as good as the G4 in terms of design, that's it. Everything else is expected to be vastly improved. When you combine a more efficient display, processor, improved battery performance with Nougat and faster charging, not having a removable battery shouldn't be too much of a concern. On the flipside the phone is more durable and now water and dust resistance. It's a win if you ask me, and I don't think owners will miss the removable battery as much as they think.
