Asus Transformer Prime 700 Hands-On Video

In addition to the Asus Eee Pad MeMO, we were also able to spend some time with the upcoming Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime 700 which will be a high-end edition of the current Transformer Prime Android Android 4.0 tablet. So what’s so different about it? Let’s take a look.

The new 700 series looks exactly like the original Transformer Prime. It also is able to connect to the optional keyboard dock that sets the Transformer tablets apart from other Android slates.

It also runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and sports a Tegra 3 quad-core processor just like the first-generation device.

However, there is something that sets the newer model apart from the older one and that’s the screen resolution. The newer 700 series model sports a 10.1-inch display that rocks 1920×1200 resolution. And yes, it looks absolutely amazing and is perfect for those that want to consume their content in the highest quality.

The new one also sports a Super IPS mode that you can select from the notifications that will make the screen brighter. Those who watch a lot of content outside or in the house will appreciate it.

It also has an upgraded front-facing camera which sits at 2MP as opposed to the 1.3MP one on the original.

Now, it’s going to cost you a little bit more than the original as the Eee Pad Transformer Prime 700 is going to run you $599 when it arrives in just a couple of months.

We are liking what we see so far but we’ll reserve our final judgement until we’re able to get fully hands-on.

You forgot to metion the GPS / WiFi fixing “NEW” back panel design. That, coincidentally has a nice plastic strip alon te top of the tablet, when in Landscape mode (the most common orientation) that allows better Wifi Signal Strength, and allows GPS to work, where it doesn’t on the Current Prime. Not only does it look exactly like a suggested fix from AnandTech, this would be the perfect fix for all of Asus customers who are demanding a fixfor the defective desin of the current model.

I am waiting to hear Asus say they will be putting this onduring the recall program that they should be offering to those that actually like ALL the featres to work when they buy a device.

I have a 64 gig prime, which had totally unacceptable wifi speed. Sent it to repair station. They sent a new line that works very well.
