Samsung Galaxy S III U.S. Launch Month Confirmed

Earlier, we were told that a 4G LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy S III would be hitting the United States at some point this summer. However, Samsung has confirmed that the first carrier or carriers that will offer the new device will be doing so once June rolls around.

While Samsung confirmed that the device would be hitting the USA in June, it did not reveal any specific launch date and no carriers have stepped forward to claim the device.

Sprint and Verizon are currently the only U.S. carriers that are rumored to be getting the device, although we would be surprised if AT&T and T-Mobile weren’t part of the launch plans as well.

If AT&T, Sprint and Verizon do end up getting the Samsung Galaxy S III, they will be offering it on their 4G LTE networks. Samsung confirmed this capability in its announcement today.

However, T-Mobile does not have a 4G LTE network which means that it will play host to an HSPA+ device if it does indeed get the Galaxy S III.

That could also mean that T-Mobile could get a Galaxy S III with a 1.4GHz Exynos quad-core processor. It’s possible that the 4G LTE model could also sport a quad-core processor but at this point, it seems unlikely.

The Samsung Galaxy S III will go on sale in the United Kingdom starting May 29th and it will be making a 10 city world tour that includes New York and Tokyo.

We fully expect that this world tour will feature the unveiling of one or more variants of the Samsung Galaxy S III. The Samsung Galaxy S II saw a similar launch last year.
