Verizon Galaxy Note 2 Competitor Launching in September?

Published

on

The LG Intuition, Verizon’s version of the LG Optimus Vu and a competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, might be headed to the carrier’s 4G LTE network in September.

DroidDog has unearthed the first press photo of the LG Intuition which is Verizon’s version of the LG Optimus Vu phablet, a device that rocks a 5-inch display and makes use of a stylus.

The press image has a date of September 15th listed which may or may not be the release date for the LG Intuition. Manufacturers will often tease a release date with the date on a press image and LG might be doing something similar here.

The LG intuition has appeared in its first press photo.

With the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 rumored for an October launch date, a September 15th launch could stand to net LG and Verizon some customers who don’t want to wait around for the Galaxy Note 2.

Samsung is slated to announce the Galaxy Note 2 on August 29th, a device that, like the LG Intuition, will be coming with a massive screen and stylus support.

As for the LG Intuition, the device is likely going to possess a massive 5-inch display, a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, the same processor in the U.S. versions of the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S III. It also should sport 1GB of RAM, a rear-facing 8MP camera, and 32GB of internal storage space.

The device’s price tag has already been revealed as $199.99 on-contract and $549 without a contract which makes it an attractive option if Verizon decides to end up passing on the Galaxy Note 2 this year.

The LG Optimus Vu was originally announced earlier this year and we were able to go hands-on with it at CTIA 2012 in New Orleans.

It’s a solid device but consumers will definitely want to wait and see the Galaxy Note 2 before deciding to pick out LG’s phablet as their next smartphone.

Not liking that aspect ratio. I am looking forward to the Galaxy Note 2.

I Wouldn’t even consider getting this LG thing.

Verizon must be on serious drugs if they think this POS garbage from Verizon is a competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Note. I’d rather buy the previous generation Galaxy Note than this half-baked piece of polished turd. What genius at LG thought it is acceptable to develop a tablet phone but not design the stylus to fit in the phone? The only people buying this phone are those who don;t know about the Galaxy Note.

Why would you say it is a competitor. That is like saying a Vista Cruiser is a competitor for an Escalade – two completely different leagues.

Verizon is offering a second-best replacement over the Note 2. Talk about pulling the rug out on their customers and telling them that they don’t have the option of having the best. They will loose customers over this one.
