Samsung Galaxy S III Caught Running Official Jelly Bean (Video)

Published

on

A black Samsung Galaxy S III with LTE support was caught on video running the upcoming Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update that Samsung has promised for the device in the near future.

SamMobile is reporting that the Galaxy S III with LTE support is on display at the IFA 2012 Conference in Berlin and while that’s exciting given that it has LTE support for Europe, the device is also running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a piece of software that has yet to roll out for either the international Galaxy S III or the American variants of the device.

The video is quick and it doesn’t give interested parties an in-depth tour of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean but it does offer a glimpse as to what owners should expect from the update when it arrives later this year. Included in the video are the new and improved keyboard, the new speedy UI, and the improved Browser.

The Galaxy S III Jelly Bean update has leaked on an official device.

It also shows off the redesigned Notifications bar that will be coming with the software.

We don’t unfortunately get a good look at some of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean’s other features, features like offline dictation and Google Now.

The Samsung Galaxy S III will also be getting an update to its TouchWiz user interface that will come with several new features including a function hat allows users to switch between several homescreen modes including Basic and Easy.

Basic Mode lists icons and widgets as they normally would look in Jelly Bean while Easy Mode is for beginners and it will automatically fill in home screens for easy access to things like widgets and contacts.

Samsung has said that the Galaxy S III Jelly Bean update will be rolling out “very soon” though the company remains unclear on when owners should expect it.

Hopefully, it clears up the situation soon.
