New Nexus Phone Rumors: Two Storage Options

Published

on

The LG Nexus 4, which we expect to be announced on October 29th at an event in New York City, leaked out again today and this time, some new details were revealed.

The evleaks Twitter account, a reliable source for leaked smartphone information, has put out a photo and some specifications for a device that it too is calling the LG Nexus 4. And while the leak doesn’t reveal a whole lot of new, there definitely are some nuggets in there that will delight those that are looking to pick up the new Nexus smartphone when it hits shelves.

LG’s Nexus 4 will apparently come with two storage options instead of just one. It appears that it will arrive with both 8GB and 16GB models and we imagine that the 8GB model will be extremely cheap. Just how cheap remains a mystery but given the fact that it doesn’t have a microSD card slot and only have 8GB of storage, we assume it will be very competitive.

The LG Nexus 4 will likely arrive on October 29th.

Furthermore, the Nexus 4 will apparently have a non-removable 2100 mAh battery which is solid for a smartphone. It’s not as big as the 2530 mAh battery found in the Droid RAZR HD but it’s still large.

We also get confirmation that the device is thicker and a bit heavier than the Galaxy Nexus, last year’s Nexus smartphone. The back of the LG Nexus 4 doesn’t present a hump like the Galaxy Nexus though, it’s flush.

We also see that it has a 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 4.7-inch display with 1280×768 resolution, a 9.1mm design and a 1.5GHz quad-core processor. None of that is new.

The leak also claims it has Jelly Bean but the final version could wind up being the new Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and not a previous version.

Fortunately, we should only have to wait a few days before we find out about the Nexus 4 for sure as Google has scheduled an Android event set for October 29th where the company will talk Android and will likely spill the beans on the new Nexus.

In addition, we could see the company debut a couple of new Nexus 7 models.

Why not just have the device with options of 16/32/64GB int storage from the get go…instead of trying to make a high capacity option down the the road? There will be something for everyone out of the gate. We don’t want to be spoon fed storage amounts..let us decide how much storage we want. Besides we are the ones paying for and will be the ones using these devices.

No expandable storage memory or replaceable battery? What were they thinking?
