Published

on

The long-awaited Samsung Galaxy Note Jelly Bean update has leaked again ahead of its official arrival, this time in the form of a new Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update.

SamMobile dug up the update today and has made it available to owners of the international Galaxy Note, dubbed the N7000, who wish to get a piece of the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update early. Keep in mind, this is only test firmware which means that it’s likely not going to be the update that officially rolls out at some point in the near future. Speaking of that, it appears that the Galaxy Note Jelly Bean update might officially roll out at some point in the next few months.

Don’t expect an AT&T Galaxy Note Jelly Bean update any time soon.

It appears that the Galaxy Note might be rolling out in the time frame of December or January. Samsung hasn’t confirmed anything in regards to its time table so at this point, that is just rumor. What Samsung has said in the past is that the update will be coming soon, though it didn’t attach any kind of a date to the software’s roll out. The fact that it has leaked out again is a sign that things are progressing though and a sign that Samsung is getting closer to a roll out.

Keep in mind, the unlocked Galaxy Note Jelly Bean update will roll out first followed by carriers which means that the AT&T Galaxy Note Jelly Bean update is probably a bit off in the distance, likely in 2013.

So it looks like the Samsung Galaxy Note will indeed be getting an update to Android 4.1 before Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the latter of which is the latest version of Jelly Bean. With the issues that Nexus owners have been seeing with Android 4.2 though, that might be a good thing.

Before taking the plunge, note that we advise those that aren’t familiar with flashing unofficial pieces of software to abstain from installing this update. Even those who are sporting rooted Galaxy Note’s might want to hold off on this update. However, for those that are well-trained in the art, the update is there for the taking.
