Yesterday, T-Mobile caused quite a bit of confusion after the Nexus 4 returned to stock with a $399.99 price tag. Today though, the mystery has been cleared up and after a short disappearance, the T-Mobile Nexus 4 has returned to the carrier’s online store with a familiar price tag.

Like its unlocked brothers, the T-Mobile Nexus 4 was sold out and unavailable to purchase, that is, until yesterday when the device made its triumphant return to T-Mobile’s online store. However, the return was marred by a bit of confusion when the price listed on the site was $399.99 on-contract, far more expensive than the $199.99 price tag that had accompanied it before.

The Nexus 4 has returned to T-Mobile with a familiar price.

And while those upgrading were able to see a $199.99 price tag, those who were looking to buy with a new contract could only see the $399.99 price. So, at the time, it wasn’t clear what was what. Soon afterwards, T-Mobile completely pulled the phone from its website leaving customers to wonder exactly what was going on.

Earlier today though, the device made yet another return to T-Mobile’s website and fortunately the carrier has corrected its past mistakes and the device is now in-stock with its normal $199.99 on-contract price tag.

T-Mobile’s Nexus 4 issues were just another in a launch that has been chock full of them. The Nexus 4 initially went on sale in early November but Google’s site spewed out tons of errors on launch day leaving many who thought they placed orders with a backorder. Soon after, the Nexus 4 went on sale again and this time it sold out completely within minutes leaving customers looking at increasingly distant shipping dates.

The 8GB Nexus 4 shipping times got so bad that it is now listed as sold out through Google’s Play Store with a return date still unclear. The 16GB Nexus 4 model is listed as shipping out in 6-7 weeks.

That has left T-Mobile as one of the only options for those looking to get a Nexus 4 right now. Other alternatives include eBay, though many options on the online auction site are far more expensive then the asking prices of both T-Mobile and Google.

Good thing I got the 16GB version when the shipping was only 2-3 weeks. Nothing has been removed from my bank account yet, nor have I received any emails confirming delivery. I ordered the device on the 27th of November, and I have a receipt of purchase from Google Play.

I’ll be replacing my Samsung Galaxy S3 with the Nexus 4. I thought long and hard about replacing, since they’re somewhat at par. But, the fact of the matter is, No contracts, Pure Google (4.2), Quad-Core processor vs GS3’s Dual-Core, Better Design, and No bloatware from At&t. Oh yeah, At&t LTE sucks (GS3, Los Angeles).
