Samsung Galaxy S4 Release at Best Buy Will Follow Carriers

It appears that Best Buy, one of the retailers that plans to sell the Samsung Galaxy S4, will be following the release date paths of carriers which finally sheds some light on the timing that those who ordered through the retailer can expect.

The Samsung Galaxy S4, which went up for pre-order through a number of retailers over the past few weeks, is also available through several retailers including Best Buy. The retailer currently has the AT&T, Sprint and Verizon Galaxy S4 models up for pre-order though the Verizon Galaxy S4 is only available to pre-order in stores.

Thus far, the company has remained rather mum about specifics in regards to their release dates only listing them as ‘Coming Soon’ on their website, including the Verizon Galaxy S4, which isn’t expected to arrive until May 30th. And with all of the confusion regarding the Galaxy S4 release including delays and other unconfirmed details, those looking to buy likely have been wondering how the retailer will react in terms of release dates.

Today, the retailer shined some light on its Galaxy S4 release which is set to kick off in just a few days. It has informed Gotta Be Mobile that its “GS4 launch timing is in line with the carriers.” It, thus far, has declined to comment on specifics.

However, what we can infer from its statement is that first, Best Buy won’t have the Verizon Galaxy S4 on sale until late May. Verizon has confirmed a May 30th release date for the Galaxy S4 and it looks like Best Buy will follow suit. That doesn’t come as much of a surprise.

A little more confusing though is the situation with the Sprint Galaxy S4. Sprint is set to release the Galaxy S4 on April 27th but will only be doing so online. The in-store release date has been postponed indefinitely. It’s unclear if that will affect Best Buy’s in-store release date as well. The Sprint Galaxy S4 is still available for pre-order through and should be available for in-store pick up which it says is coming soon.

It also means that Best Buy should have the AT&T Galaxy S4 available on April 27th, the in-store release date for Ma Bell.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 will be hitting shelves in the U.S. for the first time in just a few days and it will be doing so with a 5-inch display, quad-core processor, 13MP camera, Android 4.2 and more on board.
