Verizon HTC One Launch Rumors Keep Swirling

Rumors of a Verizon HTC One launch continue to swirl with the latest whispering coming from a noted HTC leakster who claims that Verizon’s deal on the Droid DNA makes it likely that something may be coming at Verizon’s CTIA announcement in Las Vegas on May 22nd.

For several months now, rumors of a Verizon HTC One have been swirling around, teasing those that are in the market for a new smartphone and particularly, a new HTC One. While the HTC One is currently on shelves, available for the networks of AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile, the device has yet to touch down on the nation’s largest 4G LTE provider, despite all sorts of signs pointing to a possible Verizon launch.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One are likely behind a spike in Galaxy and iPhone trade-ins.

A Verizon HTC One would compete with the Galaxy S4 and the iPhone 5.

With the Nokia Lumia 928 now up for pre-order, Verizon’s announcement at CTIA on May 22nd is now a complete mystery. Possibilities include plans for its upcoming VoLTE service, something to do with the Galaxy S4 release which is set for May 23rd or perhaps even the announcement of the elusive HTC One, an idea that has certainly picked up steam in the last few days.

That steam can be attributed to an earlier report that pegged the Verizon HTC One as arriving one to two months after the other variants, a deal that Verizon is hosting on the Droid DNA until May 21st, with the Droid DNA of course being the device that would likely get replaced by a new HTC flagship, and of course by noted HTC leakster and developer @LLabTooFeR who has claimed that the Verizon HTC One is near and that May 22nd is a possible launch date.

Today, in response to a question about the possibility of a launch at CTIA, the developer exclaimed that thanks to the Droid DNA deal, he believes that it’s likely that something might happen on May 22nd in regards to the missing Verizon HTC One. This is not a confirmation but it certainly makes an announcement a little more believable.

Of course, it’s entirely possibly that Verizon will skip an HTC One launch at CTIA and instead focus on something else. Thus far, there has been a lot of whispering, but nothing that puts the Verizon HTC One at CTIA in a concrete manner.

For now, interested consumers will simply have to deal with swirling rumors though if a Verizon HTC One is indeed coming at CTIA, we will likely hear about it beforehand.
