Verizon HTC One Release Pegged for Late June

Published

on

The Verizon HTC One release date, which was previously thought to be coming before the month of July, has been pegged for late June by an analyst from BNP Paribas Securities Taiwan.

While Verizon’s May 22nd CTIA event came and went without an HTC One announcement, rumors have picked up again with the latest suggesting that the carrier is still going to be carrying the HTC One and that it will be out before the start of July. Adding some steam to those rumors are comments made by BNP Paribas Securities Taiwan analyst Lauren Chen who claims that this is indeed going to be the case and that Verizon will start selling the HTC One in late June.

We could see a Verizon HTC One at the Verizon announcement.

The Verizon HTC One could arrive in late June.

According to Focus Taiwan, Chen did not name a Verizon HTC One release date specifically, but says that the United States’ biggest 4G LTE operator will have the device on hand before the month of June is over. Chen also claims that the company will announce a new HTC M4, otherwise known as the HTC One Mini while also announcing a new HTC Butterfly 2 in the third quarter of this year.

The HTC One Mini is expected to take on the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, thought to be arriving on June 20th at Samsung’s launch event while the HTC Butterfly 2 may be one of HTC’s answers for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, thought to be arriving somewhere in between July and September.

As for the Verizon HTC One, it’s unclear if HTC and Verizon will host a launch event or simply announce the phone. AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile have been offering the device for several weeks now, so at this point, a large launch event seems unlikely.

Instead, Verizon could simply add the HTC One to its lineup, and perhaps offer it with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, a piece of software that is rumored to be imminent for HTC’s new flagship.

      I’m pretty sure they won’t considering that’s a t-mobile exclusive.

It won’t be an HTC One. It will be some sort of Droid. Like the Droid Incredible was a Big Red version of the Nexus One and came out about 30 days after the Nexus One did.
