The oft-rumored HTC M4, also known as the HTC One Mini, seems to have inched closer to launch as it is said to have passed its Bluetooth SIG certification on its way to shelves sometime later this year.

While HTC has yet to make its HTC One Mini, codenamed HTC M4, official, it’s looking like the company may be inching closer to an announcement as the device appears to have passed through a Bluetooth SIG certification, one roadblock in the way of its release. The certification was first discovered by TechTastic.

HTC has not confirmed the certification for the device, model number P058XXX, and it won’t. However, it’s becoming clear that a smaller HTC One is on the way.

The Bluetooth listing doesn’t reveal much about the P058XXX other than the fact that it will have Bluetooth 4.0 on board when it becomes available to consumers.

For weeks now, the HTC One Mini has been rumored to be coming to shelves in the future with whispers pointing to a potential launch in either July or August of this year. The device, which is heavily rumored to have a 4.3-inch 720p display, dual-core processor, Ultrapixel camera, Bluetooth and a design based on the HTC One, is said to be the company’s answered to the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, a device that is official but isn’t thought to be arriving until after June 20th.

Like the Galaxy S4 Mini, the important details in regards to the HTC One Mini remain in the shadows including release dates, carriers and pricing. The device looks like it will arrive sometime this summer though it’s unclear as to when and where it might touch down when HTC finally decides to announce it.

The HTC One Mini will likely be just a bit bigger than the iPhone 5.

As far as the Galaxy S4 Mini is concerned, whispers have suggested that it could be coming to AT&T’s 4G LTE network but we have yet to see AT&T make an announcement regarding the smaller Galaxy S4.

The Galaxy S4 Mini has emerged with expensive price tags in Europe though without an official announcement, it’s impossible to say how much it will cost in the United States if it does arrive. A release date is unknown as well though previous rumors stated that it would arrive in July.
