HTC One Mini Launch Details Rumored

Published

The HTC One Mini, which is rumored to be joining the HTC One on shelves in the near future, has seen several launch rumors surface today with an announcement pegged before the end of July and a release rumored to be taking place at the very beginning of August, at least on one carrier in Germany.

For weeks now, the HTC One Mini, also known as the HTC M4, has been rumored to be joining the larger HTC One, the flagship that is already out on shelves in the United States and elsewhere. The device is thought to be a smaller version of the HTC One, complete with metal design, though it is expected to feature less powerful specifications.

On board are said to be a 4.3 720p display, dual-core processor, Ultrapixel camera, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and yes, the new Sense 5 complete with HTC Zoe and HTC BlinkFeed. HTC has yet to officially confirm any of that, but it appears that an official announcement and a release date are both inching closer to the surface.

Previous rumors suggested that the device would be released in August and all signs are pointing to that being the case. Today, @LLabTooFeR, a noted HTC leakster, claims that the HTC One Mini announcement would likely come by August while Teltarif, a German publication, reports that the German arm of the carrier O2 expects to have the HTC One Mini in stock on August 3rd.

That date of course is anything but official but that appears to be the date that the carrier is expecting to have it in stock. If true, that likely means an announcement in July, as is suspected.

A specific announcement date is unknown though with rumors heating up and the device itself emerging from the shadows, it should only be a matter of time before the company decides to take the curtain down from around its smaller HTC One variant.

The HTC One Mini is rumored for AT&T and T-Mobile though neither of those carriers have confirmed their plans.
