Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Release Pegged for Late September

Published

on

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 launch is thought to be coming in early September at IFA 2013 in Berlin, Germany and now, thanks to a new report, it appears that the Galaxy Note 3 release date may come in late September with a couple of different variants, including one that is touting an LCD display as opposed to an AMOLED display.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 rumors have been swirling over the past few months in the build up to its eventual launch later this year, a launch that will see Samsung replace the Galaxy Note 2 with the Galaxy Note 3 as its flagship smartphone. Rumors have been plentiful though we still haven’t been able to nail down all of the details of the Galaxy Note 3.

So far, the device is rumored to have a 13MP camera, a design that resembles the Galaxy S4 and its plastic, either a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor or a Exynos 5 Octa processor or both, and a 5.7-inch to 6-inch 1080p resolution display. Early rumors suggested that Samsung could be looking at LCD displays for the Galaxy Note 3, to either replace or join an AMOLED display, and a new report seems to suggest that it could be releasing both display types into the wild.

According to ETNews, a Korean publication, Samsung may be looking to adopt LCD displays from Sharp and use those in addition to the AMOLED displays that typically come with its big name devices. Demand could be one reason why Samsung is interested in LCD displays and as we saw at CES, Sharp’s IGZO displays also provide great battery life in addition to accurate feedback for a stylus. The Galaxy Note series comes with a stylus bundled on board.

The report also notes that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 launch is expected to arrive in September at IFA, 2013 in Berlin, Germany though it also suggests that the release could be coming in the same month as well.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 release date is mentioned, very briefly, as being in late September. This is the first time that we’ve seen the release date specifically mentioned though it’s not surprising given that late September is a likely candidate for the device’s arrival. Samsung typically announces its flagship devices at an Unpacked event and releases them around a month later.

Samsung is likely going to announce the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 at an Episode 2 Unpacked event later this year and all signs are currently pointing at IFA in early September meaning late September is a perfect time for a release date.
