New details about the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update support rumors that surfaced earlier this week and which indicated that Samsung is preparing Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 for arrival in the near future.

Earlier this week, we heard that Samsung was in the process of getting Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates ready for the Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2, two devices that were rumored to have skipped Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. These rumors suggest that the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, with Galaxy Note 3 features on board, is slated for late November or December while the Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update is rumored for release in October.

December could bring the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update release in some regions, with Galaxy Note 3 features.

Samsung hasn’t confirmed Android 4.3 updates for these two devices but the company did take the stage earlier this month and suggest that the Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S4 would be getting updates in October that would bring them compatibility with the Galaxy Gear accessory. Because Android 4.3 has Bluetooth LE support and the Galaxy Gear is a Bluetooth device, it was assumed that the company was talking about Android 4.3.

New details support these rumors as French carrier SFR suggests that it will be pushing out Android 4.3 updates for the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 in the coming weeks. According to a new chart that the carrier presented today, the Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update is slated for November or December while the Galaxy Note 2 update is also thought to be coming out in November and December.

This fits in perfectly with what we’ve heard. Typically, carriers are a little behind the curve when it comes to updates, something that explains the Galaxy S3 update being pushed into November, and not October. The Galaxy Note 2 timing appears to be spot on with the rumors.

This timing lines up with Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update rumors.

SFR’s plans are subject to change, and we’ve seen that happen before. However, the carrier has also been spot on with its timing in the past so it could be that it keeps its word with these two updates. Whatever the case may be, it’s looking like the updates will arrive in 2013. That may not be the case for some American carriers though as they are notorious slow at pushing out major Android updates.

The Android 4.3 update for the Galaxy S3 will be its first major Android update since Android 4.1 arrived back in September. In the interim, the device received an update up to Android 4.1.2 that brought several premium features from the Galaxy Note 2.

As for the Galaxy Note 2, this will be the device’s biggest update since it arrived on shelves last year as the device has been toiling on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, an extremely old version of the software.
