Galaxy Note 4 Release Date Crosses More Roadblocks

Published

on

Samsung still isn’t talking about the Galaxy Note 4 release but we know that the Galaxy Note 4 release date continues to make progress behind the scenes as Samsung prepares its upcoming flagship in its battle against the iPhone 6, LG G3, and others.

A week ago, Samsung took to the stage in Berlin, Germany and confirmed its Galaxy Note 4, a successor to the Galaxy Note 3 and a device that will challenge Apple’s upcoming iPhone 6 release this fall during the holidays. On stage, Samsung announced many of the key details including the Galaxy Note 4 specs but the company unfortunately failed to confirm several other important details including the Galaxy Note 4 price and the specific Galaxy Note 4 release date.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date is confirmed for October though buyers are currently without an official release date in the United States or in other markets around the world. Galaxy Note 4 release rumors have pointed to an arrival in and around October 10th but that date comes from foreign retailers and not Samsung and its carrier partners.

While Samsung remains mum, we have seen the Galaxy Note 4 release make some progress behind the scenes. Earlier this month, we spotted a number of international variants passing through their Bluetooth certification.

On top of that, we’ve seen several Galaxy Note 4 variants, including the AT&T Galaxy Note 4, pass through the FCC. Both Bluetooth and FCC are critical components to a smartphone release and their blessing means that a smartphone is one step closer to release. Today, we’ve seen it clear two more hurdles ahead of its official release date.

Two more Galaxy Note 4 variants have been spotted cruising through the their Bluetooth certifications. Blog of Mobile spotted two model numbers, SC-01G and SCL24, getting their proper certifications ahead of the release. SC-01G is expected to be a model for NTT DoCoMo in Japan while the SCL24 is expected to be for fellow Japanese mobile operator KDDI.

These filings mean that these two Galaxy Note 4 models are now one step closer to their release date, a release date that could be shared by a hundreds of regions around the world. Both the global and the United States Galaxy Note 4 release dates are confirmed for October and in the past, we’ve seen them emerge in close proximity to one another.

In addition to these certifications, it appears that Galaxy Note 4 pre-orders have begun in Germany alongside Galaxy Note Edge pre-orders. Several Galaxy Note 4 pre-orders have been spotted including pre-orders at Amazon, MediaMarkt, Notebooksbilliger, and redcon. Amazon is charging nearly €1000 while the others are charging €699.

The arrival of these pre-orders is a good sign though they do come from retailers and not from Samsung’s carrier partners in Germany. It’s still not clear if U.S. carriers will be offering Galaxy Note 4 pre-orders or how much they might charge for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Samsung Galaxy Note Edge when they arrive later on this year.

Galaxy Note 4 Features - Design

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be loaded up with new features including a new 5.7-inch Quad HD display, Snapdragon 805 processor from Qualcomm, 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization, new design that features plastic and metal, 32GB of storage, Android 4.4.4 KitKat, new software, and a brand new S Pen.

And while it looks to be a powerful smartphone, it will have to contend with the iPhone 6, a device that will feature 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays combined with a sleek metal design. The iPhone 6 will go up for pre-order starting tomorrow with a release date that’s confirmed for September 19th. At this point, it looks like Apple will beat the Galaxy Note 4 to release despite launching a week earlier.

Thanks for update. Some UK retailers are now saying late September/early October for release which is perfect. Can’t wait to get this phone. Keep up the Note 4 updates. Thanks.
