Exciting Verizon Note 4 Release Surprise Emerges

A Verizon Galaxy Note 4 release surprise has emerged today as a new Galaxy Note 4 model has broken cover just ahead of the Verizon Galaxy Note 4 release date.

In September, Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 4, its brand new Galaxy Note model that’s replacing the Galaxy Note 3 as its flagship smartphone. Shortly after the Galaxy Note 4 launch, U.S. carriers announced plans to release the Galaxy Note 4 as a competitor for devices like the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and LG G3. And while four of the five Galaxy Note 4 carriers in the United States have seen their release dates come and go, the Verizon Galaxy Note 4 release date has yet to emerge.

Several weeks after the Galaxy Note 4 launch, Verizon confirmed Galaxy Note 4 pre-orders and the Galaxy Note 4 price ahead of its Galaxy Note 4 release date. At the time, the company listed the device’s ship by dates for October 23rd. That date held, even after its rivals announced firm October 17th release dates for their models. Verizon did not confirm a release date and simply referred prospective buyers to the ship by dates listed on its website.

Yesterday, the carrier started shipping out Galaxy Note 4 pre-orders, both black and white models, to consumers across the United States. Devices are expected to land today and tomorrow. October 23rd is expected to serve as the Verizon Galaxy Note 4 release date though that remains unconfirmed at this point with October 23rd less than 24 hours away.

While most of the pre-release Verizon Galaxy Note 4 details has been bad, we’ve seen a bit of good news pop up today in the form of a Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Developer Edition that Samsung says is coming soon. The device, first discovered by Droid-Life, has been spotted on Samsung’s website ahead of the Verizon Galaxy Note 4 release date.

The device is listed with a surprise $662.53 price tag, cheaper than the regular model off-contract ($699) though that price tag may not hold. It’s possible that that is just a place holder as Samsung and Verizon continue their final Galaxy Note 4 release prep behind the scenes. The device itself is a bit of a surprise given that Samsung and Verizon failed to confirm its release in September.

Verizon’s Galaxy Note 4 Developer Edition will be similar to the regular model though it will come with an unlocked bootloader that will allow users to tinker with the software and install custom software. It’s a perk that typically comes with a premium price point which is why this sub $700 price tag is shocking to say the least. While the price is listed, a release date is nowhere to be found.

The Galaxy Note 4 release date may not be known but Verizon continues to push towards its arrival. Last week, Verizon posted its first Galaxy Note 4 accessory on its website, the official  S-View Flip Cover from Samsung. The $50 accessory appears to be available ahead of the Galaxy Note 4′s actual release date.The S-View Flip cover is just one of several official Galaxy Note 4 accessories that are set to arrive this year.

The carrier also posted support documents for both the black and white Samsung Galaxy Note 4 variants. These documents offer basic tips and advice to Verizon Galaxy Note 4 owners. These point to an imminent release.

Verizon is charging $299.99 for the Galaxy Note 4 on-contract but Samsung’s $200 trade-in deal still applies to the device because Verizon still hasn’t released the Galaxy Note 4. Verizon’s trade-in will be offered through today. This is, at this point, the only pre-release Verizon Galaxy Note 4 deal that’s still available and it knocks a significant chunk off the Verizon Galaxy Note 4 price.
