Samsung Galaxy S6 Specs Sheet Emerges

The Samsung Galaxy S6 specs sheet continues to grow ahead of the highly anticipated Galaxy S6 release thanks to a collection of reports that outline alleged Galaxy S6 features including details about the design, display, and more.

As we progress further away from the start of the year, we’re starting to see Galaxy S6 rumors emerge at a rapid pace, detailing everything from the Galaxy S6 launch date to the Galaxy S6 release date to the Galaxy S6 specs. Galaxy S6 rumors primarily outline the Galaxy S6 specs, the features that will make up what the Galaxy S6 brings to the table when it arrives later this year.

A new avalanche of Galaxy S6 specs have emerged today thanks to several different sources who outline these alleged details based on insider sources. Samsung is well known for clamping down on Galaxy S design leaks though the Galaxy S series is known for leaking out extensively ahead of launch which adds credence to these reports.

A Bloomberg report asserts that Samsung is dropping the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor from the Galaxy S6 in favor of an in-house Exynos processor. Early rumors suggested that Qualcomm was having internal problems with the chip though the company denied those rumors. The report indicates that Samsung “tested a new version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chip, known as the 810, and decided not to use it.” An analyst claims that the decision is based in part on the Galaxy S6 release date which could arrive as early as March.

Samsung’s relied on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips for its Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series for a number of years now so this would represent a massive change for the company. It’s not clear which Exynos processor the company will install inside the Galaxy S6 though rumors have pointed  to a 64-bit Exynos 7420 processor.

The Galaxy S6 design is also starting to take shape thanks to another report from Italian site WebTrek who claims that the device will not feature water resistant technology. Last year’s Galaxy S5 features a water and dust resistant design though the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 design did not come with either of those properties on board.

Finally, a massive report from BGR outlines what could be the final Galaxy S6 spec sheet. The site claims that the information comes from a trusted source and it reveals a number of potential details including the Galaxy S6 screen size, Galaxy S6 camera and more. The screen details do not align with what we’ve from Galaxy S6 rumors though it’s possible that Samsung’s been throwing around several prototypes in the build up to the Galaxy S6’s launch date. Alleged benchmarks suggested that the screen size could be 5.5-inches, similar to the LG G3, a Galaxy S rival. Galaxy S6 rumors have all along pointed to a jump to Quad HD resolution.

Samsung was also rumored to be deciding between a 16MP and 20MP camera sensor and this report maintains that the company made a decision. It appears that Samsung’s opted to go with the larger sensor with Optical Image Stabilization on board. The metal and glass design popped up in a rumor earlier this week and the storage aligns with what we’ve already heard about the Galaxy S6.

We still don’t know when Samsung plans to announce the Galaxy S6 though a launch date could be just weeks away. Galaxy S6 release rumors have pointed to an arrival at MWC 2015 in Barcelona with March 2nd now thought to be the device’s launch day. If true, it would come one day after HTC’s launch event which is thought to have an HTC One M8 successor on tap.
