Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lollipop Update Hits More Users

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lollipop update started rolling out a couple of weeks ago though Samsung’s been taking its time. Today, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android 5.0 Lollipop release is finally starting to move ahead as the update for the LTE-powered variant is finally pushing out in several regions around the world.

A couple of weeks ago, Samsung surprised a lot of Galaxy users when it started rolling out the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 Lollipop updates ahead of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update. Samsung typically releases major Android updates for its flagship smartphones first, before moving onto aging former flagships. Not the case with Android 5.0.

In the days since, Samsung’s been starting to pick up the pace. In the past two weeks, we’ve seen the Samsung Galaxy S4 Lollipop release start to gain ground and today, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lollipop update is finally starting to do the same.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 Android 5.0 Lollipop update is finally pushing out to the popular LTE version of the device. According to SamMobile, the SM-N9005 is starting to get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in the United Kingdom, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Romania. It’s a massive push for an update that remained fairly stagnant in the weeks after its initial roll out.

The Galaxy Note 3 Lollipop release is still limited to the international versions of the device though with the roll out to the LTE model now underway, we should start to see carriers in regions like the United States start to deliver their goods. U.S. carriers still haven’t revealed any specific details but we know that at least one carrier is working hard on the Galaxy Note 3 Android 5.0 Lollipop update behind the scenes.

A few days ago, we discovered the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lollipop update lurking on Sprint’s website. The appearance doesn’t mean that an update is imminent but it does confirm that the update is currently in testing at Sprint and perhaps, other U.S. carriers as well. Thus far, we haven’t seen any carriers, U.S. or otherwise, confirm the Galaxy Note 3 Lollipop update for arrival though these new roll outs might just be the catalyst for the flow of information.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 Android 5.0 update joins three other roll outs. The aforementioned Galaxy S4 Android 5.0 Lollipop update, the Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update and the Samsung Galaxy S5 Lollipop update that’s been pushing out since December. As of right now, the Galaxy S5 Lollipop update is the only Galaxy Android 5.0 update that’s available in the United States. That should change soon though.

All four of these Android 5.0 Lollipop updates are massive and they deliver big changes to Samsung’s flagship smartphones. The software includes Google’s new Material Design, changes to the lock screen, enhancements, bug fixes, and more. We’ve seen carriers put their own spin on these updates in an effort to expel bugs and enhance some of their own features.

These four won’t be the only Android 5.0 Lollipop updates that Samsung rolls out. The company is widely expected to deliver Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrades to the Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy S5 mini, Galaxy S5 Active, and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Newer tablets like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S should also get the bump up to Android 5.0 Lollipop at some point. Release dates for many of these devices remain unclear.

New information suggests that we should, at the very least, start to see the Galaxy S5 Lollipop update gain ground in the month of February and it’s reasonable to expect the Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 Android 5.0 Lollipop updates to start making a strong push alongside it. Owners of these devices will want to remain patient as Samsung works to deliver its upgrades all over the world.
