Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop Update Details Emerge

New Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update details have emerged today and it looks like the Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop release is finally starting to pick up the pace.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Android 5.0 Lollipop update first started pushing out in February. In the weeks since the start of the initial push, the Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update has taken baby steps. It’s rolled out in only a few select places including here in the United States where it’s currently available on AT&T and Sprint.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update finally appears to be picking up some steam as a number of updates have pushed out to owners today from behind the scenes.

According to SamMobile, the Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update is now pushing out to the SM-N910C in Brazil, the UAE, and the Baltic region. It also appears to be pushing out to the SM-N910G in India which means that Samsung’s made a significant push in the first two days of April.

These new Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop updates are massive in size, checking in at over 1GB. Users will want to download them over a high-speed Wi-Fi network if possible to cut down on time. Samsung says that the download and installation process should take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour depending on the connection speed.

The updates should mirror the other Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop updates that have rolled out as of late. Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 Android 5.0 upgrades have delivered a number of new features including Google’s brand new Material Design. The update also brings enhancements and fixes for lingering Android 4.4 KitKat problems. As we’ve learned, there’s also a chance that it will bring some Android 5.0 Lollipop problems of its own.

In addition to these new Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop roll outs, we’ve gotten word today about another upcoming Galaxy Note 4 Android 5.0 Lollipop release. Canadian carrier Rogers has finally detailed a firm release window for its version of the Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update and it appears that it will land sometime this month.

A specific date isn’t clear yet though with a Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop release now confirmed for April, Rogers will almost certainly join Bell in rolling out its Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update in early April. Its update, like the others, should bring significant changes to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update continues to make significant progress but it still has a long way to go. In the United States, three of the five carriers remain on Android 4.4.4 KitKat and T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon have yet to confirm any specific release date details. Of the three, only T-Mobile has confirmed an upcoming update.

The T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update currently sits in the “Manufacturer Development” stage which means that it still hasn’t been handed off to T-Mobile for testing. Carrier testing is unpredictable though it usually takes a few weeks before carriers are comfortable rolling the update out to the public-at-large.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop update isn’t the only Lollipop update making progress. Samsung’s other major Lollipop updates for the Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3, and Galaxy S4 continue to make progress around the world as we push deeper into the year and further away from their initial release dates.

None of these updates are going to finish overnight though. The company still has a long way to go before it gets its Android 5.0 Lollipop updates rolled out to its key flagship smartphones. Historically, the company’s needed six months or more to complete its roll outs and it looks like Android 5.0 Lollipop will follow that pattern.
