Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Video: Concept Teases New Features

Published

on

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 release date is rumored for later this year and rumors have already hinted at some of the device’s specs. A new Galaxy Note 5 video concept brings some of these rumors to life and teases new features ahead of Samsung’s inevitable announcement.

As we move deeper into the year, we’re starting to see Samsung Galaxy Note 5 rumors hint at the Galaxy Note 4 successor. Galaxy Note 5 rumors haven’t firmed up yet but they’ve outed several possible specs including a large Quad HD or Ultra HD display, a new Exynos processor from Samsung, a premium design, and a release in the United States later this year.

The Galaxy Note 5 design is still shrouded in mystery though with a shift to premium materials on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, many consumers are hoping for a premium Galaxy Note 5 form factor. A Samsung executive has hinted at that very thing but thus far, leaks and rumors have failed to produce a look at Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5 design. That’s left Samsung enthusiasts and designers to fill in the gaps.

Galaxy Note 5 Video Concept

The latest Galaxy Note 5 concept is from designer Ivo Maric. He’s released a brand new Galaxy Note 5 concept video that shows off a beautiful Galaxy Note 5 concept that borrows heavily from the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, a curved Galaxy S6 variant that launched alongside the Galaxy S6 back in April.

Maric’s Galaxy Note 5 video concept features a beautiful premium design that’s reminiscent of the glass and metal design language found on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. In addition, this Galaxy Note 5 Edge features a dual-edged curved screen, something that Samsung’s supposedly bringing to the Galaxy Note series later this year.

This Samsung Galaxy Note 5 concept doesn’t run down a wish list of specifications. Instead it focuses on the design and leaves the specs to the imagination. And while it’s a solid looking device that’s good enough for Samsung, the real Galaxy Note 5 may not look anything like the device in the video.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 rumors point to the arrival of just one Galaxy Note 5 branded phone. The device is expected to feature a number of big time features though it’s not expected to come with a curved display. Rumors point to the arrival of a Galaxy Note Edge 2 that comes with a different set of specifications. Samsung is reportedly still testing the Galaxy Note 5 though it appears that it might be looking to get the device out sooner than usual.

A new report from Korean outlet WhoWired Korea is making the rounds this week and it outlines some potential Galaxy Note 5 details.

The publication claims that Samsung will expedite the Galaxy Note 5 and that the Galaxy Note 5 release date will land in late July, much earlier than the start of IFA 2015 in September. Samsung is reportedly looking to finalize the Galaxy Note 5 in June and start taking pre-orders ahead of an arrival in late July.

The publication claims that the launch will coincide with the arrival of Samsung Pay, Samsung’s Apple Pay competitor that was unveiled alongside the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

The report cites the iPhone as the Galaxy Note’s biggest threat and one of the reasons for the shift. Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus features a 5.5-inch display and it has engaged the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge in a fierce battle.

This year, Apple is expected to have two new iPhone 6s models up its sleeve including a 5.5-inch iPhone 6s Plus. The iPhone 6s Plus is rumored to have a number of big time features including a new camera, improved display, a fortified design, and a new processor. Like the Galaxy Note 5 release, the iPhone 6s release is rumored for later this year.

Neither device has leaked to the surface and it could be months before we see how the designs, and specs, compare to one another.
