Call of Duty: Black Ops 3: 5 Things to Expect at E3 2015
We don’t need to wait for a major reveal of the new Call of Duty at E3 2015, but there are a few things you can count on at the major game expo from the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 team at Activision and Treyarch.
Even though we know a good deal about the 2015 Call of Duty game, including the Black Ops 3 release date and some gameplay details, we expect to see new information appear at E3 2015 that will fill in some missing gaps about the game.
This release delivers a return to the Black Ops game and a step away from last year’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare release. With Black Ops 3, TreyArch is back at the helms to deliver new gameplay, more zombies and new features.
Gamers can already place a Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 pre-order to get access to the Black Ops 3 beta on Xbox One and PS4. The Call of Duty release date is November 6, 2015. This is a Friday and marks an early start to the game, instead of making players wait for a Tuesday.
We will likely see Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 during one of the major events from Sony or Microsoft, and we also know that IGN will offer a look at the game at 2:20 PM Pacific, 5:20 PM Eastern on June 16th.
Here’s what to expect from Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 at E3 2015 next week.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Gameplay Trailer
You can count on a new Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 gameplay trailer at E3 2015. That is the point of the major presence at one of the press events. We may only see footage from the PS4 or the Xbox One, not both depending on any partnerships that Activision inks with Sony or Microsoft.
The Call of Duty webpage already teased a Campaign Co-Op playthrough online on June 10th for a brief period which will show, “your first glimpse into the all-new Co-op Campaign with the Ramses Station playthrough.” This is visible on the Google Cache of the Call of Duty website, discovered on Reddit.
It’s not clear if this is the only Black Ops gameplay that we will see, but it wouldn’t be surprising to also see some Multiplayer footage in addition to this campaign gameplay.
Black Ops 3 Impressions
Members of the press and E3 2015 attendees will be able to play a Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 demo in a multiplayer setting at the show.
While we will not see full Black Ops 3 reviews from this limited time playing the new Call of Duty, you can expect some solid first impressions from users who are lucky enough to play Call of Duty early this year.
Even if there are restrictions to the length of play, this is something that will help deliver our first real info about how fun the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 multiplayer experience will be.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 DLC Announcements
Gamers who pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 can choose to buy a season pass with four DLC packs for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
We don’t know exactly what will arrive as part of the Black Ops 3 DLC in the Season Pass, but the Amazon listing suggests it will come in 2016.
At E3 2015 we may see Activision announce what gamers will get, at least with some more details, and depending where we see the game appear. If the Black Ops 3 gameplay reveal is on the stage with Sony you can expect to see the DLC arrive early on PS4. If it is on the Microsoft stage you can count on early access on the Xbox One.
For the last two Call of Duty releases, Xbox delivered early access to the DLC. We will not hear about new PS3 and Xbox 360 Black Ops 3 DLC info until closer to release.
New Black Ops 3 Beta Details
The Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 beta is coming later this year, but there are no specific details yet. It makes sense for Activision and Treyarch to announce the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 beta start time and information at E3 2015.
In addition to the Black Ops 3 beta release date, we will likely learn more about how long the beta will run for, how many maps it will cover and other details about what players can do in the beta.
It is not out of line to expect that whichever console gets DLC first will also get earlier access to the beta by a few days. We may see E3 2015 come and go without every Black Ops 3 beta detail coming out, but it makes sense for the company to deliver more information at E3.
No Major Surprises
With the influx of new information over the past week and a half, we don’t expect any huge Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 surprises at E3 2015.
We already know that Marshawn Lynch will appear as a bad guy in the new Call of Duty game and that there are plenty of partnerships coming for Black Ops 3 gear.
The most important information that could have come out as a surprise at E3 2015 came this week with the confirmation of Black Ops 3 for Xbox 360 and PS3 and confirmation that there is no Wii U Black Ops 3 release planned.
