The 2019 iMac is finally on sale. This is a look at the new 2109 iMac features and specs that matter. After a lengthy wait, Apple announced the new iMac with a 2X performance boost, with new CPU and GPU options. Even if you don’t care about tech specs this is an important upgrade.

Apple didn’t change the iMac design with the 2019 iMac, and while there are important new features Apple isn’t fully upgrading this all-in-one with the T2 security chip or a full switch to SSD, but there are important changes.

Alongside the 2019 iMac Apple also sells the non-Retina 21.5-inch iMac for $1,099, offering a cheaper entry level Mac that doesn’t get the same upgrades as the other new iMac models.

Here’s a look at the biggest changes and new 2019 iMac features that you need to know about before you buy a new iMac. This is very performance focused, so if you’ve been waiting for design or screen upgrades you’ll need to keep waiting.
