5 Best Phones [February, 2015]

While we don’t recommend buying a new phone in the month of February, we realize that plenty of people aren’t going to be able to wait a few weeks for new crop of flagships to arrive. With those people in mind, here, we take a look at the devices we think represent the five best phones on the market right now.

If you’re looking for a new smartphone right now, you’d be wise to wait until March 1st. That’s when the Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9 are both expected to launch, proving you with two new flagship options and replacements for two of the best smartphones from last year. Three weeks is nothing in the smartphone world so if you can wait, wait.

Not everyone can wait though. We realize that everyone’s situation is a little different and some of you won’t be able to hold out for these new flagships. You need a smartphone during the month of February and perhaps, you need a new phone this very moment. We haven’t seen anything major released at the start of the year but there are still some excellent phones out right now.

And while our list may differ from yours, these are the devices that Gotta Be Mobile editors have selected for recognition this month. We feel like the devices listed here deliver the best, all-around package for this month and this month alone.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will soon be joined by the Galaxy S6. The Galaxy S6 is reportedly heading to all five major U.S. carriers and that makes the Galaxy Note 4 a tough sell in February. That said, if you're in desperate need of a new smartphone, the Galaxy Note 4 is going to be a fine choice this month. We like it more than the Samsung Galaxy S5, the company's other flagship phone.

Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 arrived in the United States to great fanfare and it's as good as advertised. It offers you a massive 5.7-inch Quad HD display, an improved design that combines plastic with metal, a camera with Optical Image Stabilization, and a speedy processor that's capable of providing excellent multitasking and gaming.

It's expensive in the U.S., $299.99 on-contract most places, but it's certainly worth a look if you absolutely need to buy a new smartphone this month.
