Picking out your next tablet can be a difficult task, particularly for those that may not be caught up on the latest devices. Here, in an effort to help those struggling to come to a decision, we take a look at the slates we consider to be the five best tablet options on the market for the month of April, 2014.
As we move deeper into the year, we inch closer to this year’s crop of tablets. Rumors suggest that we could see a brand new Nexus 8 in July and perhaps, a new Nexus 10 sooner than that. From the look of things though, most of the big names that could potentially arrive in 2014 are still several months away which means that consumers are going to have to settle for a market that is dominated by last year’s devices.
While the tablet market might not be as fresh as the smartphone market is, there are still some very solid options to choose from during the month of April. In fact, for some consumers, the amount of choice might be a little overwhelming.
Simply put, there are an absolute ton of tablets out on the market right now and wading through those different choices can be difficult process. That’s why we want to help whittle those choices down in an effort to make the process more fluid. Walking into a store with your top options in mind will save you time and potentially, some money as well.
Keep in mind, our list may differ from yours but these are the devices that Gotta Be Mobile editors have selected for recognition this month. We feel like they deliver the best, all-around package at the moment.
With that said, let’s take a look at the devices that we consider to be the five best tablets for the month of April, 2014.
The iPad Air is arguably the best iPad that Apple has ever made and it will likely remain on this list until the company produces an updated version, presumably an iPad Air 2.
Apple trimmed the design of its larger iPad to the point that it's much more portable than any of the 9.7-inch iPads that came before it. The company also tacked on a 64-bit A7 processor with an M7 motion coprocessor making it more powerful than ever before and a new camera for those that like to shoot photos and video with their slate.
As we've pointed out numerous times, the iPad Air isn't cheap but it's a device that will last users several years because Apple offers three years of software support before cutting devices off. This is a device that is well worth the price of admission.
