If you really want a headphone jack on your next iPad, you should consider buying the iPad mini 5. 

Apple removed the 3.5mm headphone jack from the iPhone starting with the iPhone 7 and the company  eliminated it from the iPad Pro line with the release of the 2018 iPad Pro models.

Fortunately, the company's design language doesn't apply to the iPad Mini 5's design or the iPad Air design.
