Apple might be working on a foldable version of the iPhone, but we almost certainly won't hear about it in 2020.
The company's rivals, like Samsung and Huawei, have released foldable devices. Samsung recently re-launched the Galaxy Fold and Huawei's Mate X has finally come to market. Samsung's also launched a foldable device dubbed Galaxy Z Flip.

We've seen some patents hint at a foldable iPhone but this doesn't confirm anything. One analyst believes Apple will roll out a foldable iPhone in 2020 but we haven't seen any other credible sources point to a release in 2020.
Leaker Jon Prosser says that Apple is working on a "foldable" iPhone, but that it isn't really a foldable. The The current prototype reportedly has two separate display panels on a hinge.
So while rumors have popped up, you should operate on the assumption that a "foldable" iPhone is coming in 2021 or later.
