Wait for Under-Display Biometrics

We've heard this rumor many times in the past, but it looks like under-screen Touch ID, or under-display Face ID, might finally make it to the iPhone next year.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the 2022 iPhone lineup might feature under-display fingerprint technology which would allow users to unlock their phone using a finger anywhere on the screen.

This technology missed the iPhone 13 series, but there's always a chance it debuts on next year's models instead.

We've also heard that Apple might deploy under-display Face ID on the iPhone 14 instead. This information comes from analyst Ross Young. Of course, we could also see both features on board.

Things are still in flux and Young notes that the feature hasn't been finalized so there's always a chance it gets scrapped.

We'll let you know when we learn more.
