Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G Ice Cream Sandwich Update in the Works
The Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G Ice Cream Sandwich update is in the works, although a specific release date is not known just yet.
T-Mobile, on its customer support page, has announced that the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G Ice Cream Sandwich update will indeed be coming in the future but that the carrier has no time table for the software roll out.
The carrier made the comments when addressing an update for the Galaxy S Blaze 4G that is set to roll out Over-the-Air today and become available through Samsung Kies tomorrow.
Today’s update, while not Ice Cream Sandwich, will come with a few improvements that should shore up some of the problems that Galaxy S Blaze 4G owners have been having with the device.
Fixes include:
- E911 issue over Wi-Fi resolved
- Echo issue when on Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC) call
- Proximity Sensor improved
Obviously, that’s not as good as Android 4.0, but at least the update has been confirmed to be coming by T-Mobile itself.
It’s actually a bit surprising that the device will be seeing the upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich especially after some other well-known devices, the HTC Desire HD being one of them, have been given bad news.
Hopefully, T-Mobile will fill Galaxy S 4G Blaze owners in on a release date for the Ice Cream Sandwich update sooner rather than later and the carrier says it will update the device’s support page when it has specific dates for the roll out.
In the meantime, enjoy the bug fix update Galaxy S Blaze 4G owners.
