Galaxy S8 Oreo Update: 5 Reasons to Get Excited & 4 Not To

Published

on

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Android Oreo update is imminent and those of you with a Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ or Galaxy S8 Active should be excited about its release.

Samsung’s Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo beta is closed and the company is hoping to produce the official version of the upgrade in the near future. Samsung is pushing for a release in January though an official release date remains unconfirmed.

The Galaxy S8 will be the first line of Galaxy devices to get upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo though we expect the Galaxy Note 8 Android Oreo update to emerge shortly after it arrives.

It’s a huge upgrade for Samsung’s Galaxy S8 models and it includes a mix of new features, enhancements, bug fixes, and security enhancements.

We already know quite a bit about the Galaxy S8 Android Oreo update thanks to Samsung’s beta. The beta, which ended January 17th in most regions (January 26th in the United States), gave Galaxy S8 users the change to try the firmware ahead of time. With the beta closed, a third-party Android Oreo leak is the only way to download the software ahead of time.

The Galaxy S8 Android Oreo update has some exciting features on board and today we want to highlight a few of our favorites from the beta.

We also want to share a few things that have the potential to disappoint some Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, and Galaxy S8 Active users.
