Dell put a lot of effort into the display with Dolby Vision, which means brighter brights and deeper blacks. The display is simply stunning to look at, and it’s hard to believe this 4k HDR display is in such a portable package.

The Ring Door View Cam arrives later this year for $199.

Vizio M Series With Quantum Color

You get Quantum Color, which means a wider spectrum of colors up to 90 zones of local dimming and 600 nits peak brightness. The image quality on this set is amazing and it comes with SmartCast 3.0.

The 9.7-inch version is available now for $100 and the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro versions are coming in the Spring for $100 and $130.

Belkin BoostCharge USB-C to Lightning Cable

Belkin’s new BoostCharge USB-C to Lightning cable is the first Apple-approved third-party solution.

When they’re released later this year (Belkin says it expects to launch sometime this Spring) you’ll finally have another option outside of Apple’s first-party cables.

Belkin’s solution ranges from $24.99 to $34.99 depending on the length (4-foot, 6-foot, and 10-foot) of the cord. And they look nice to boot.

Anker ROAV Bolt Car Charger & Google Assistant

The Anker ROAV Bolt is a USB car charger with the Google Assistant built-in. If you can’t afford to buy a new car or upgrade the stereo, this $49 device plugs into your cigarette lighter and instantly upgrades your vehicle for the modern world.

The Bolt is a typical dual USB port car charger with rapid charging, and it even has an AUX 3.5mm port for wired connections to an old-school stereo.

However, the main selling point is that it brings the power of the Google Assistant to any vehicle. Whether that’s hands-free calling, voice controls, messages, music playback, navigation and more. This neat little gadget is available to pre-order for $49.

Griffin PowerBlock Wireless Charging Pad

We still don’t know when or even if Apple will release its long-delayed AirPower solution. If you’re tired of waiting you’ll want to take a long look at Griffin’s new PowerBlock Wireless Charging Pad.

This $79.99 gadget features a Qi wireless charging pad on the left side, complete with Apple’s fast 7.5W wireless charging, and an Apple Watch charging puck on the right side.

We still don’t have an official release date but Griffin tells us the accessory will be out sometime in Q1 2019.

The new cases combine OtterBox’s quality protection with a built-in PopGrip that’s compatible with PopSockets removable PopGrip. OtterBox says cases will come in a variety of colors to fit “every look, style, scene, or vibe.”

Otter + Pop cases will be available via OtterBox and PopSocket and they’ll start at $59.95. You can also buy additional PopTops for $8 apiece.

Lenovo Smart Clock Adds Google’s Assistant to Your Bedside

Published

on

Google plans on connecting almost every device in your home to the Google Assistant. To help with that task, Lenovo just announced the Smart Clock, a stylish modern day alarm clock. Combining a 4-inch screen with a Google Home smart speaker to become your bedside companion.

This little gadget will help you unwind in the evening, plays ambient noise so you fall asleep faster, or can help kickstart your day. Not to mention control all of your other smart home devices or play your favorite music as a traditional speaker. Read on for more details.

At first glance, the Lenovo Smart Clock just looks like a small little screen on your nightstand, but what’s special is the power of the Google Assistant built-in. That means you have tons of controls and features available at the tip of your tongue or fingers.

The Google Assistant makes it easier to set up sleep routines, such as turning your devices on silent, dimming the lights without getting out of bed, or reminding you about upcoming calendar events for the next morning. In fact, it can do all of that with one command like, ” Hey Google, Good Night”.

Then, in the morning, it works like a traditional alarm clock, plus a bunch of other neat features. Those include gradually increasing the lights and volume of your alarm over a 30 minute period, and gives you weather information on the screen, aloud, or both. Ask Google about your day and you’ll see and hear the full schedule.

While Google Home speakers are convenient and smart, having to listen to commands from a smart speaker isn’t always ideal. When you add on a screen, you have the choice to look at the response or hear it. Plus, it connects seamlessly with every other smart device in your home. That means over 10,000 products can share information to the display. Whether that’s your front door security camera, the kids room, or seeing your Nest thermostat temp and turning it up.

The Lenovo Smart Clock has a soft fabric design, a 4-inch screen, and a loud 6-watt Dolby speaker to play your favorite tunes. There’s also a full-size USB port on the back to charge your phone, and a dedicated mute button for those worried about privacy and a speaker “listening” in the bedroom. That way you can mute the mic at a moments notice. And no, it does not have a camera.

Lenovo mentions that the 4-inch screen is as unobtrusive as possible and will only light up for attention when necessary. And when it’s not in use, you’ll have access to a slew of customizable yet stylish clock faces and fonts.

It takes the Amazon Alexa wall clock and makes it more useful, then packs Google inside. Put it in your bedroom or the bathroom. The Lenovo Smart Clock will be available in the coming months for $79.

Lenovo Yoga S940 Delivers AI Smarts & Stunning 4K Display

Published

on

The new Lenovo Yoga S940 announced in January at CES 2019 is a premium ultra-slim laptop with a focus on entertainment, hardware and AI software in a new precision-crafted aluminum shell. Between the powerful internals, tiny bezels and 90% screen-to-body-ratio contour glass 13.9-inch display, this is one laptop worth waiting for.

Coming in at under a half an inch thick and just 2.64 lbs, this laptop is small, lightweight, portable, and stylish like a MacBook Pro. Similar to the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon, the Yoga S940 comes with multiple screen options, including a Dolby Vision 4K HDR model, up to 1TB of space, and a new Lenovo Smart Assist AI feature suite.

Perhaps the best part of that premium screen is the contoured glass, which wraps around the edges into the bezel-free display and aluminum frame. It all blends together with a level of precision anyone can appreciate. The most impressive part of this laptop is the screen, which just stuns you the moment you open the lid. I’ve never seen a laptop with a screen this great. Read on for more details.

  • The Lenovo YOGA S940 has a stunning 4K HDR display you’ll absolutely love
  • Expect a mid-May 2019 release date
  • Starting price of $1,499

Lenovo’s new Yoga S940 is one sleek laptop. Customers have asked for an aluminum body for years, and they finally delivered. Using a new precision-crafted aluminum process they managed to keep it lightweight, 0.48″ thick, yet still remain durable. Typically thin aluminum isn’t very strong, but Lenovo assured us this device meets all its usual requirements.

As expected, this 13.9-inch laptop comes with the latest Intel 8th Gen Core i7 processors, 8/16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of SSD storage. That beautiful bezel-free screen is either a 4K UHD (3840 x 2400) HDR display with 500 nits of brightness or a more affordable FHD 1080p IPS Dolby Vision panel. Again, the star of the show is the screen. It’s like a premium smartphone display inside a laptop.

If the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 lineup is too businessy for you, the Yoga S940 is a great alternative. It’s the perfect mix between everything they have to offer and will help you with that work-life balance. Whether that’s enjoying movies on the beautiful screen, working on the go, or using the Smart Assist features for conference calls and enhanced security.

Lenovo Smart Assist Features

  • Zero-touch login with IR camera array (almost like FaceID)
  • Eye-tracking moves content from display to monitor with glance
  • Walk away from your S940 and the screen goes black for privacy
  • Background unfocuses during video calls, keeping the focus on what matters
  • Auto-leveling software filters out background noise so your voice is clear
    on video & voice calls
  • Smart Voice recognizes only your voice with Alexa & Cortana
  • Optional 4K UHD HDR display with Dolby Vision and Atmos support
  • Choose of 8/16GB DDR4 memory & Up to 1TB PCIe SSD

In case you didn’t notice, Lenovo is using a “reserve notch” with the screen. Instead of a notch cutting into the display, like the iPhone X, the front camera and IR sensors bulge above the screen. Delivering a better overall experience.

Again, Lenovo is offering multiple versions, including Intel’s 8th Gen Core i7 processors, 8/16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of SSD storage. As for ports and connectivity, you’ll enjoy two USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports, and a single regular USB-C port. Sadly we only get one USB-C port, and Lenovo ditched the regular full USB-A port. It’s unfortunate, but most of the industry is doing the same thing.

So, when can you get your hands on this stunning new laptop? The Lenovo YOGA S940 will hit shelves in May, starting at $1,499. That’s a little less than the new ThinkPad X1 Carbon (2019), in a similar sleek package.

All you really need to know is that this is one of the best laptop’s we’ve seen at CES that’s coming in the first half of 2019, and you have to see the screen to appreciate it.

2018 iPad Pro Brydge Keyboards Hands On Video

Published

on

The Brydge 12.9 Pro keyboard for the 2018 iPad Pro is one of the most anticipated new iPad Pro accessories of 2019, and we finally know all about it and have been able to go hands on with it.

You can pre-order the Brydge 11.0 Pro for $149.99 or the Brydge 12.9 Pro for $169.99 starting today. They ship in early Spring.

This is the keyboard to buy if you own the new iPad Pro in 11-inch or 12.9-inch versions. It’s a better option than Apple’s keyboard with a great design that looks and feels more like the bottom half of a laptop. It’s easy to put the iPad Pro in the Brydge 12.9 Pro keyboard and easy to pop it out when you just want to use it as a tablet. It’s a bit of a shock that Brydge pulled this off considering how small the bezels on the new iPad Pro are.

I’ve ben using the keyboard from Apple, and while it is better than the one it replaced, it can still be challenging to use on a lap for longer periods. The Brydge iPad Pro keyboards keep the same feel as a laptop on your lap. This means more stability and a surface that is easier to type on.

The design matches the look of the 2018 iPad Pro with the same flat edges and rounded corners, making it look like a matched pair. A small notch on the front edge makes it easier to open the iPad Pro with keyboard attached. It is similar to the notch on a MacBook Pro.

The keyboard connects with Bluetooth, but you can also connect it by USB C if you cannot use Bluetooth. This allows you to type and charge the keyboard at the same time.

Keys feel good, better than the MacBook Pro in some cases. They are backlit, which is better than the Apple Smart Keyboard and there’s a real arrow key setup.

When you pair these two devices up, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro and Brydge 12.9 Pro are lighter than the 13-inch MacBook Pro at about 2.8 pounds.

One of the nice features about this is the flexibility it provides outside of using the iPad like a laptop. You can use it as a tablet with the keyboard attached, or remove it. You can also use it to prop the iPad up for a video call or a movie with the keyboard tucked behind it for a different viewing angle.

Brydge also includes a snap on magnetic cover that protects the back of your iPad, so you don’t need another case to cover it. You can use it, or not, but it comes with the keyboard.

Here’s where to pre-order the Brydge 12.9 Pro and Brydge 11.0 Pro today.
